Five tips for a lively adventure in the underwater world!

In the underwater world at ‘Splash! The future of the sea’, you experience adventures that you play the leading role in! This part of the exhibition is completely interactive and responds to your movements.

General tips:

  • Keep a little way away from the walls – hitting the walls doesn’t work
  • You don’t need your wristband for this part
  • Make slow movements and look carefully at what you see on the walls

1. Clean up the rubbish

The left wall is for the smallest children. When they take rubbish from the sea (by pushing it upwards without touching the wall), you’ll see the number of animals increase. They’re much happier with clean seas! And did you know there’s one little crab who can’t stand being tickled? Can you find him?

2. The smallest life in the sea

Can you see the big fishes on the middle wall? They love the smaller animals in the water. Stand quietly in front of the wall, spread your arms and snap your fingers. In the bubble, you can see all the small life forms in the sea. The large fishes love those. But you can also see bits of plastic waste...

3. Which animal will come to find you?

On the right-hand wall, you can see seaweed. If you stand in front of the wall and move your arms gently, animals appear between the fronds. Can you see a school of fish or a squid or a jellyfish? They’ll move along with you when you go back and forth.

4. What do you see?

Have a good look at the walls as well and see what’s growing there! When you and the other children move, it makes the seaweed grow. If you take the time to look around, you’ll see more and more things.

5. You don’t have to touch anything!

How does everything move with you? That’s thanks to the sensors controlling the computers. If you start your movements slowly, they’ll pick up on it. If you stand against the walls, they won’t see you.
