As a Patron, we welcome you to a diverse group of maritime enthusiasts who feel closely connected to the Maritime Museum. You will also be an important ambassador for the museum.
We are especially proud that, partly thanks to the financial support of our Patrons, we are able to manage the Netherlands’ maritime heritage and present it to a wide audience in a contemporary way. Your support can help ensure that we continue to innovate and introduce new generations to the maritime world.
Become a Patron now and, on the occasion of the exhibition 'Maritime Women', receive a unique miniature sculpture of the Apollo by Sasja Hagens. With this, you immediately contribute to the acquisition of the Apollo, which is prominently featured in the exhibition.

Ambassador of the museum
As a Patron, you support the museum with an annual contribution (from €1,000).

Donation agreement
The Maritime Museum has ANBI status. This means that your donation, through a donation agreement (minimum term of 5 years), is tax-deductible from your taxable income. More information about periodic donations can be found on the ANBI website.

Contact usThe Maritime Museum Rotterdam has cultural ANBI status. This means the museum is exempt from gift and inheritance tax. Every donation therefore fully benefits the Maritime Museum. The museum’s tax number is 8150.38.392.
Giving Act (Geefwet)
Thanks to the Giving Act, which came into effect on January 1, 2012, you can deduct 125% of your donation from your income tax. For example, if you donate €100, the deductible amount is €125. If you fall within the 52% tax bracket, a €100 donation effectively costs you only €35 net. This multiplier allows you to deduct more than the amount you have donated. Please note that there is a maximum deductible amount of €1,250.
Tax advantage
For one-off donations, a threshold of 1% of your taxable income applies, with a maximum of 10%. These thresholds do not apply to periodic donations; a donation agreement of at least five years is fully tax-deductible from your income tax.
We are happy to formalise periodic donations from €250 in an agreement drawn up by the Dutch Tax Authority.
