Horizon

Every year, a guest curator takes to the floor of Station Horizon to get visitors thinking about the future of the city. This year it is the turn of futurologists Edwin Gardner and Christiaan Fruneaux of Studio Monnik. In The Mastership Society, they explore their vision of the future in a magical panorama of our harbour city.

Mees: Station Horizon??? What is that about?
Jane: We visited all kinds of stations about Rotterdam and the port of the past and present. Rotterdam looks very different since the dam was built in the Rotte. But what happens next? What will Rotterdam look like in the future? And that's what this Horizon station is about... about the future! So Mees... what do you think Rotterdam and the port will look like in the future?
Mees: Ehhhh…can I think about that for a moment?
Jane: That's certainly allowed! But when we go out together again, I want to hear from you!
Mees: Deal!
